When a customer invests in a new production line, receiving the machines is only the first step. What really matters is what happens next—installation, commissioning, process adjustment, operator training, and finally, getting the line ready for production. Recently, ETON's engineering team completed the installation and commissioning of a complete LED lens chip processing production line for OMIC in Algeria. The project includes an SMT pick-and-place machine, reflow oven, dispensing machine, and related supporting equipment, forming an integrated production workflow for OMIC's LED lens chip processing application. But perhaps the most meaningful part of this project was not the machines themselves. It was what the customer had to say after working with our team. What Does OMIC Think of ETON?After using the equipment and working with the ETON engineering team during the installation and commissioning process, OMIC shared positive feedback about the project. The customer highlighted three things in particular:
For ETON, this feedback means a lot. Easy-to-use equipment helps operators become familiar with the production process more quickly. Good service gives customers confidence throughout the project. And patient, professional engineers can make a real difference when new equipment is being installed, adjusted, and brought into production. For us, a successful project is not simply about delivering machines. It is about helping customers use them confidently and get production running smoothly. A Complete LED Lens Chip Processing LineOMIC's project in Algeria is designed around LED lens chip processing and includes several key stages of production. The main equipment includes:
Each machine has its own role, but the real value comes from making these processes work together as one production system. From component placement to reflow soldering and dispensing, the ETON engineering team worked through the complete production flow during the commissioning process. The objective was straightforward: Not just to install the machines—but to prepare the line for real production. Step 1|SMT Pick-and-Place Machine InstallationThe SMT pick-and-place machine is one of the key pieces of equipment in the production line. During the on-site installation, ETON engineers carried out machine setup, feeder configuration, nozzle selection, vision system checks, parameter adjustment, and placement testing. For LED-related applications, placement consistency is especially important. The machine needs to handle different components accurately and consistently while maintaining stable performance throughout production. The engineering team worked together with OMIC's operators to check the machine settings and make adjustments according to the customer's actual production requirements. The focus was not simply on getting the machine powered on. It was about making sure the machine was properly configured for the customer's application. Step 2|Reflow Oven CommissioningAfter component placement, the PCB moves into the reflow soldering process. Reflow soldering plays an important role in determining the quality and reliability of the assembled PCB. During commissioning, the ETON engineering team worked on the necessary setup and process parameters for the customer's production requirements. The goal was to establish a stable reflow process that could work smoothly with the upstream SMT placement process. A complete SMT line is not simply a collection of independent machines. Each process needs to connect with the next. That is why line-level commissioning is so important. Step 3|Dispensing Machine SetupThe dispensing machine is another important part of OMIC's LED lens chip processing line. Depending on the application, dispensing requires accurate control of material quantity and dispensing position. During the installation and commissioning process, ETON engineers adjusted the equipment according to the customer's requirements and carried out production testing. The objective was to achieve a consistent dispensing process while ensuring that the machine could integrate smoothly with the overall production workflow. For automated manufacturing, consistency matters just as much as speed. |
